Thomas Drinkard is a graduate of the University of North Alabama. He majored in English and has a minor in Speech and Drama. After graduation, he went directly into the U.S. Army. It took only a short time before he wanted more than the conventional Army offered. He volunteered for the famed Special Forces (Green Berets) and after earning his paratrooper's wings, he successfully completed Special Forces School. He was fortunate to be selected to serve with the Special Operations Group (MACV-SOG) in Vietnam.
After active duty, he used his teaching and writing skills to prepare candidates for securities examinations. He taught securities licensing courses from coast to coast and wrote many of the instructional materials still in use.
He was an active poet for years and his work is in a number of literary magazines.
His first book of fiction, Piety and Murder, is currently available on Amazon and B&N as well as other outlets. The prequel, No Innocents, will be published later this year as will an unconnected book, Devil's Blade. Three more books are works in progress.
Thomas recently completed editing a memoir of a man's journey from being a victim of schizophrenia to becoming a therapist. The book, The Mindful Son will be available soon.
His partner in editing, and life, is Marjorie Hatfield Drinkard, The two work as a team. Thomas tends to work on structural content while Marge is more focused on proofreading and line editing.
